Tribe Reale Deal 4.0 Bodyboard
As a former pro bodyboarder, I am on a never-ending quest to improve my equipment. My boards have continued to evolve ever since my first signature model way back in the early 90s.
The Reale Deal 4.0 is the current manifestation of that. Always one to love both prone and DK, I like a board that will work for either riding style, in all kinds of waves, in all types of water temperatures, so my board is designed for ultimate versatility.
The 4.0 starts with a subtly rounded template that provides both speed and maneuverability. The internal structure features a low-density 1.2pcf polypro "flex" core to provide flex in both warm and cold water, but this version adds a very unique "mini-stringer"- a stringer that extends from near the tail to just past the midpoint on the board. This enables the top half of the board to flex for those gouging cutbacks and late drop tube scoops, while maintaining a stiff lower half for speed and hard dropknee turns. Just for good measure, I've added patented Skintec stiffener under the entire deck to enhance the warm-water performance and durability of this board. Add to all of that an ever-so-slightly thicker 57mm thickness for a touch more volume, premium Surlyn bottom, and 10mm deep channels, and you've got an all-arounder that is better than anything I rode during my pro days.
The end result is a board that comes out of the package with a lot of stiffness that just gets better as you break it in and will take you anywhere you want to go with your riding.
